Crystal McLane
Hi! My name is Crystal and I am one of FMKC’s foundation agility instructors. I have been around animals my entire life, but I did not get involved in the dog sport world until 2018 when I started taking classes with my chihuahua mix Milo. We started competing in agility in 2021 and as they say, the rest is history! My dogs are my heart and soul and I owe so much of my life to them – I have met so many wonderful friends through the dog sport world and some of my favorite memories have happened at dog trials. Milo is now 11 and continues to compete in agility. He has his Agility Excellent Preferred title and recently received his Master Excellent Jumper Preferred title. He has started to practice scent work as well, so we will plan to compete in that in the future. My second dog Sugar, a 10 year old APBT mix, also enjoys competing in a multitude of dog sports including agility, scent work, barn hunt, and fast cat. She has her open titles in both standard and jumper courses and is working towards her excellent titles in 2026.
I really enjoy teaching the foundational classes at FMKC as I personally love to watch the teams grow their confidence and skills over time. I am a big believer in making the dog sport world inclusive and inviting! I especially love agility for the bond it creates between you and your dog as you work through the obstacles together. As a new or long term student, please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions regarding our foundational classes. I truly enjoy learning from the other instructors at FMKC as well as listening to dog sport podcasts and watching YouTube videos – so, if it’s something I don’t have an answer or an exercise for, I will work to find one!
